The first category of the afternoon, “Kreative Kids,” is reserved for those 18 and under. The category appropriately entitled, “Fashionably Saratoga,” invites contestants to don their most beautiful hats; the most original artisans and architects will go head to head for the title of “Uniquely Saratoga.”
Hat contest registration will begin at noon under the grandstand where patrons will await their turn to flaunt their fabulous head pieces.
The heady competition will unfold on the track apron after the second, third and fourth races, as participants parade in front of the judges for the chance to win a variety of Saratoga prizes including lunch and gift certificates.
Sunday is also the Saratoga Baseball cap giveaway, free with paid admission while supplies last and includes the running of the Go for Wand.
All part of the opening weekend of the 141st meet at America’s Race Track,
August 2, 2009.
