Denver says Happy Birthday, John!
Monday 10-06-2008 12:43pm ET
Denver will celebrate what would have been John Lennon's 68th birthday this Thursday by staging a special outdoor event. Named for one his most famous post-Beatles songs, The Imagine Peace Paint-In will be held in Civic Center Park with a variety of activities -- including painting, concerts and guests celebrating John's life and the causes he felt dearest. May Pang, Lennon's personal assistant and companion, will host the Paint-In. Returning to Denver brought back memories of when she and John flew there en route to Caribou Studios in rural Colorado -- where he helped Elton John record his chart-topping cover of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds." May will also be selling and signing copies of her recently published book of photography Instamatic Karma. Also set to appear are singer Jock Bartley from Firefall, who'll perform several Lennon songs and Denver's mayor, John Hickenlooper.

Elvis is Alive Museum could be yours...
Thursday 09-25-2008 12:16pm ET
The Elvis is Alive Museum is on the sale block again. Andy Key, who recently spent 83-hundred dollars for the contents of the quirky shrine --and another 40-thousand to move it from Wright City, Missouri to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, says National Guard obligations trump his devotion to the King of Rock and Roll. Key has placed the museum's collection of photos, magazine and newspaper clippings, F-B-I files, a replica of a Cadillac owned by Elvis and a bronze casket with a wax head of the American icon, on E-bay.
Will Macca be a tourist?
Wednesday 09-24-2008 1:51pm ET
There are conflicting reports about the length of time Paul McCartney will spend in Israel following his first-ever show there tomorrow night in Tel Aviv. Some reports say he's flying in and out while others have him staying a few days. One report says he will set up shop for three nights at the oceanfront Dan Tel Aviv with his entourage taking over 21 suites. He'll reportedly occupy the fifth-floor presidential suite overlooking the Mediterranean. The suite will be outfitted with a piano and he'll have his own 24-hour-a-day butler. Among the celebs who have stayed in that suite are the Clintons, President Bush, former Russian president Gorbachev, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Richard Gere, Sharon Stone and Roger Waters. As for visiting Israel for the first time, Macca says, "I am very interested to look around and look at the situation, just personally. I am going to be interested as a tourist just to look around and meet the people."
